Black bears are one of the many incredible mammals that dwell in Douthat State Park. Join us to learn more about these secretive animals. We will explore bear behavior, what makes Douthat a great place for them to live, and how you can safely recreate in bear country.

As part of the fun, you’ll also get to make your very own bear claw necklace to take home, creating a memorable keepsake of your visit. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover more about one of Virginia’s most iconic wildlife species!
