When

Feb. 4, 2025. 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

"Butterfly, flutter free, after Winter, come back to me!"

Join our rangers as we look into the lives of insects and their winter habits. All insects are different in how they have adapted to the colder months: burrowing underground, over wintering as eggs, or freezing completely solid! One species flies thousands of miles from Canada to Mexico before going back again in the Spring. There is one, they cay, that can predict how cold Winter will be depending on the colors of its' back.

Please make sure to dress for the weather! Hats, scarves, and gloves are highly encouraged as we will be going on a short walk on one of the park trails near the Visitor Center (weather permitting).
