July 19, 2025. 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Experience the beauty and serenity of High Bridge Trail State Park under the glow of the moon during this ranger-led evening hike. The walk begins at High Bridge Station, the park's visitor center, and follows the full length of the historic High Bridge. As moonlight casts a silvery glow over the Appomattox River Valley, you’ll discover the bridge’s fascinating history and surrounding natural landscape in a whole new light.

A ranger will guide the way, sharing stories of the bridge’s engineering feats, its significance during the Civil War, and the nocturnal wildlife that call the area home. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes, and to bring water and a flashlight or headlamp.

In the event of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled for the safety of all participants. Join us for an unforgettable evening on the trail!
