Hoot Hoot - Who's That?
Join us for our third installment of our Nights in Nature Series! Several native nocturnal animals are found in the park, including the little brown bat, screech owls, flying squirrels, and more! During this interactive program, we'll uncover some of the unique adaptations that these animals use to thrive in the dark. We'll also explore the forest to see if we can hear calls or see any nocturnal species. This program includes a 1-mile hike on natural surface hiking trails with exposed rocks and roots. The hike is mostly on flat terrain with a few short hills. All ages are welcome. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Pre-registration is required. To register, email megan.goin@dcr.virginia.gov.
