Yes, you too can canoe! Discover the basics of canoeing while exploring the tranquil waters of Swift Creek Lake with a knowledgeable park ranger as your guide. As you glide along the lake, the ranger will share fascinating insights about the local ecosystem, wildlife, and the cultural history of the area

This is a beginner-friendly paddling experience designed for first-time canoeists and curious adventurers age 6 and up. Participants will learn essential canoeing skills, including paddle techniques, water safety, and how to work as a team in a canoe. All equipment will be provided.

Boats are limited and attendees must register in advance at the Park Office or by calling (804) 796-4255. The $10 per person program fee must be paid during registration. Registration closes 15 minutes before scheduled program start.

Please bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen; wear close-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty and/or wet; and arrive 15 minutes early. This event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
