161st Anniversary of the Battle of Staunton River Bridge

In observance of the 161st anniversary of the battle here at Staunton River Battlefield State Park, several programs will be set up just outside of the Clover Visitor Center.
These include, at 10:00-10:45 a.m., a simple tabletop showcase of the various weapons and equipment both cavalry soldiers and regular infantry soldiers carried during the Civil War and how they differed from each other.
At 12:00-12:45 p.m., a presentation on identifying various local medicinal plants that many doctors and soldiers used to treat sickness and injures during the Civil War.
Finally, at 2:00-2:45 p.m., a ranger will show off a simple Civil War camp scene and describe what soldiers would have eaten, how they slept, and how they could have passed the time.
