Golf Course Nutrient Management Plan Grants
Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost-share program?

Currently, there are funds for a direct-pay program offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is my course eligible for grant money?

All golf courses with a nutrient management plan expiring in 2020 or before are eligible to participate in this grant. If you have questions about eligibility, contact DCR's Urban Nutrient Management Specialist, Gonzalo Ortiz, Gonzalo.Ortiz@dcr.virginia.gov, Cell: 804-217-2010.

How do I receive grant funds?

Contact a turf and landscape certified planner and inquire about the direct-pay program. The contractors are paid $10 per acre to write nutrient management plans for land maintained by the golf course. This $10 per-acre grant may not cover the entire cost to write the plan.

How can I be sure I am getting the $10 per acre from the contractor?

Ask your grant contract planner. They should be able to break down the costs of the plan for you.
