We will discuss the benefits and responsibilities of participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, basic NFIP regulations and permitting, along with a walk-through of using Crisis Track for post-disaster assessments. This is a heavily condensed version of the classic long-format floodplain management training, made to be informative and interesting for a wider audience.
Along with our local floodplain administrators, we hope to see county administrators, mayors, emergency managers and other officials whose support is critical to the success of local floodplain management programs. Please forward this invitation to anyone you think should attend.
Wed June 11: SWVA Higher Ed Center, Abingdon
